It moves without warning, silently
A distinct plan in mind it seems
Swaying to and fro and then stopping
A pause before the storm

First right then left and to rest
No purpose but to confuse the watcher
Like a serpent in search of prey
Or a reed to flow in the wind

Watch is this mystery to behold
It fascinates the watcher
Leaving them wonder of the purpose
To stop and to begin again

The magical movement it appears
As if to move with an accompanied tune
This wondrous thing to behold
As only a cat's tail can be

How I have watched in awe at times
To the varied way to moves
Could it be from happiness or boredom?
Only the owner knows and will not tell
