Winter Musings
The last vestiges of autumn are fleeting,
There is an amber glow in the evening sky.
Cooler nights will soon be upon us,
And a slight hint of moisture is in the air.
Frosty ground could soon be on the horizon,
An array of green foliage has turned to brown.
Morning chirping of birds is sparse of late,
And winter animals are preparing for the cold.
From leaves lying brown and crumpled on the ground,
To the lifeless looking bare trees in the distance.
A small sense of dampness now can be felt!
The faint color of white is on the distant horizon.
Winter can be harsh and cruel, or even mild!
With conditions that can change with little notice.
The anticipation of the coming season is welcome,
To see the newly fallen snow is a beautiful vision.
