Choices
Ask not the darkness for light and warmth as it can give neither,
Beg not the stones for rest and comfort it is not within their power;
Seek not to shelter under a roof that leaks as this is a poor choice,
Look only within your thoughts to find the correct path.
As the dismal clouds gather over the horizon toward evening.
Sounds of thunder can be heard echoing above the distant terrain;
Flashing of lightning gather ever closer over the landscape,
The animals scatter for cover to elude what is yet to come.
Nature and thoughts have a similar path in which to navigate.
Selecting the way of danger or the option to be protected,
The choice to be free of a catastrophe or embrace the gloom,
If there is a choice select the rainbow, not the thundercloud.
